Meet Don. After researching multiple senior living providers with his daughters, Don made Benchmark his home in 2021. A bright spirit with a sharp sense of humor, Don carves out a space in the community that is uniquely and wholly himself. A man of many interests, you wouldn’t be surprised to discover that behind his door is an apartment fully customized to suit his creative hobbies – one which Don is delighted to share with associates and fellow residents.
In his time here, Don has made new friends and has been supported in continuing to do the things he loves, like building model airplanes.
This isn't like any other apartment,it's a workshop. But it's me.
While he enjoys a good meal and poker nights with friends in the community, Don’s greatest love is the sky. A trained pilot, Don continues his love for aviation and his skill for crafting model planes. Don's apartment doubles as a workshop – and glancing at the aircraft suspended from his ceiling, a private hangar as well.
I couldn't do it without them.The staff at Benchmark here is kind. Unbelievably so.
Don is grateful the Benchmark staff, who assist him in hanging his planes and customizing his room. He notes that his apartment is completely unique; No other resident's apartment in the community looks like this because Don has made it his home.

Both the associates and residents at Benchmark are always keen to hear Don's stories. A former Navy man, Don finds shared experiences in the armed forces amongst his friends. He recalls how swift and with ease he acclimated to the community – someone’s always there to swap tales or take a walk down memory lane.
