Blogs are a great and easy way to learn more about senior living and senior care. While there are thousands of blogs out there, we’ve rounded five blogs that we think provide useful information for families. We are not calling this list the best senior care blogs or top senior living blogs.  We just made a list mostly for you, our readers. We have made some notes about each blog in case one interests you.

The Caregiver’s Voice – TheCaregiversVoice.com serves family caregivers and professionals who work with adults with cognitive impairment or dementia caused by Alzheimer’s, stroke, related illnesses, or trauma. The website is written with terrific insight and passion by Brenda Avadian, a speaker, author, and blogger of tips, guides, and humor for Alzheimer’s caregivers.

Alzheimer’s Reading Room – Written by the son of a Alzheimer’s sufferer, the Alzheimer’s Reading Room blog shares news, research, information and advice for other caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Articles from the blog have been syndicated by several major news sources including The Wall Street Journal and Fox News.

Age Blog – American Society on Aging – The Age Blog discusses the latest developments in the fields of senior care and aging. The ASA stays true to its mission with content that covers a broad range, including the physical, emotional, social, economic and spiritual aspects of aging.

Care and Compliance Blog – The Care and Compliance blog serves assisted living and residential care professionals. The company behind it provides education and training and has helped over 30,000 assisted living professionals in topics ranging from first aid to administrator certification and advanced practice continuing education.

Changing Aging – Written by Dr. Bill Thomas, Changing Aging explores life beyond adulthood. This multi-blog platform talks about aging as rich in developmental potential and growth, and its commentary covers a range of topics.

Another resource worth tapping into is the website for AARP, which has been beating the drum about senior living and senior care for years. AARP recently overhauled its website to include a Caregiving Resource Center. It’s worth a visit.
