Benchmark Named One of the 50 Best Workplaces in Aging Services by Great Place To Work and FORTUNE Magazine
Associates Trust in Benchmark’s Leadership, Respect, Fairness and Camaraderie Recognized for Second Straight Year
Benchmark, a human connection company and leading provider of senior living services in the Northeast, today announced that Great Place To Work and FORTUNE magazine have honored the company for the second year in a row as one of the Best Workplaces in Aging Services. Following extensive feedback by associates at all levels, Benchmark earned the number 15 spot amongst large senior housing and care providers with more than 1,000 employees. The company ranks number five among providers with 50 or more communities.
“We strive to keep our associates connected to who and what matters most in their lives, providing a work environment and ample opportunities so that those at all levels of our organization can continue to grow personally and professionally,” says Tom Grape, founder and CEO of Benchmark. “We are fortunate to have associates who are called to care for our residents and who are devoted to providing the experiences they need and want to thrive. Our associates truly are the key to our success, and we couldn’t be more pleased to earn their satisfaction.”
By focusing on associate experience, leadership development and ongoing management engagement, Benchmark is able to outpace many health care organizations with a higher level of associate retention and with over 300 former associates returning to the company every year.
In addition to offering a wide range of benefits and incentive programs, the company is known for its many career development opportunities provided by Benchmark University. The Benchmark One Company Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization, is there for associates in times of need when they can’t purchase the necessities of life or meet the contingencies created by an emergency. In 2018 alone, the fund extended over $220,000 in grants to 102 requests for help.
The Great Place to Work survey gauges workers’ perceptions in five areas – pride, respect, credibility, fairness and camaraderie – with employee engagement and culture being critical criteria. The level of trust felt toward company leaders, pride taken in their jobs and camaraderie experienced with co-workers are all taken into consideration.
